March 2015 : 4-6 weeks - Three sacs, and two heartbeats

Remember the Chinese meds I mentioned in previous post?

The meds contains 2 sets; one for me and one for husband. Yes, we both have to take it. If I'm not mistaken, I only took it for 1 cycle then I already got a good news, Alhamdulillah :D (I think it's not because of the ubat...so don't ask me how to get the ubat). That time my mens already delayed for about 4-5 days but I still insisted not to check. Till one day, curiosity kills me; I checked on my own and I already know it's positive. I wanted to keep the news to myself coz it was just 2 weeks to our 1st wedding anniversary. I initially planned to make it a surprise for my husband, but then, I need to tell him earlier coz he was still consuming the meds. haha. I felt so bad that I wanted to stop him but I didn't know what to say. So I just broke the news earlier, and definitely he's happy about it.

I downloaded pregnancy apps and got to know that I was 4 weeks pregnant and my due date is in November. I didn't go for checkup to verify my pregnancy yet. For some reason, I felt like procrastinating it till 6 weeks coz I wanted to be able to scan during the checkup. So I tried to call a few hospitals near Kota Damansara to schedule an appointment. Honestly, I prefer to do check-up at my convenient time which is after work. Unfortunately, only Pusrawi does check-up after office hours, but they only have a male gynae at that time. Husband didn't agree with a male gynae (except his father :p ), so I tried other hospital. I scheduled an appointment with a gynae Dr. H* S*** in DSH (KPJ Specialist Damansara) at 3pm Friday.

It's finally Friday; husband and I took half day leave to go back early and meet the doctor. To my surprise, even though we have an appointment, they made us wait for 2 freaking hours. The nurse there said it's first come first served basis...(then why do I need to make an appointment in the first place? blergh. The waiting time is more like in govt hospital i think?).

While waiting, the nurse asked me to do urine test, measured my weight and blood pressure. When it comes to my turn, I had a conversation with the doc, then later on she brought me to the bed to do ultrasound. When doing that, she said she can't see a clear image of the baby. She then suggested me to do TVS-transvaginal scan to be able to see it (uh, you know TVS can cost you rm200+?).

TVS image showed that I have more than one sac! the way the doc told the news was freaking me out and might be intentionally to make me panic so that she can do more procedure to me (....and it means $$$). She could clearly tell that there were 3 sacs, and 2 hearbeats, (and small cysts). That time, she confirmed that I have at least twins (...or triplets, depends on whether the other baby manage to develop). I purposely asked for meds; currently I'm consuming 4mcg folic acid but she said it's no longer enough for two babies, she gave 5mcg instead. I asked for meds coz I can claim expenses incurred in hospital but not meds from pharmacy.

The bills shoot up to rm606 for God's sake.....! Her consultation alone costs me rm215, TVS rm270+, and meds rm100++. Crazy right? (this is before GST implementation fyi). If I were to give review for her service, I would say that she's lack of professionalism and a rip off (since she knew it's my first pregnancy and i can claim from my company)..and why do I need to wait for 2 hours even though I have already made an appointment. The parking there is also inconvenient to me. Not worth of how much I have paid for their service, so I decided not to come back. It's a posh hospital which only demands money...and definitely not for me.

....till the next post <3
